Blooming for Christ
Leave the past behind you!
STOP, DON'T LOOK BACK! YOU ARE NOT GOING THAT WAY!
I REPEAT!
STOP DON'T LOOK BACK! YOU ARE NOT GOING THAT WAY!
How often do you reminisce on past memories? Now, how much were you able to accomplish in a day after all of that reminiscing and carrying on? I don't know about any of you all, but for me whenever I am reminiscing on a past event it might take up some time from day. Now you might be wondering how come? Well, depending on how a memory made me feel I might take time to analyze the events that occurred at the time. This can cause the important duties I had set aside to do for a particular day to get pushed on the back burner. Why? Because I am giving all of my time and energy to a thought that has already passed. That means that whatever happened has already happened and no matter how hard I try to analyze the situation, it will always remain the same.
There is so much I have to get accomplished and I cannot allow the past memories to take up any more space in my mind, especially the not so good ones. Whenever I feel anything negative trying to come into my mind or space, I immediately pray and ask God for guidance because nothing is too hard for Him to handle. Now, don't get me wrong not all memories are bad. There are quite a few that I would consider putting them in the category of a "blast from the past," but it's important that I don't spend too much time on those either.
My daily reminder: The future is in front of me, the past is behind me.
And that my friend is where I want it to stay!
Isaiah 43:18
"Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old."
Will you let go of your past today?
